The radar measurement process of the MBA400 can be used to precisely and reliably measure the filling level in narrow containers or in containers with fittings. In this case, this measuring method is completely without contact to the bulk material. A transmitter radiates radar pulses onto the bulk material, the surface of which reflects the signals back again. The measured running time is proportional to the filling level. The radar level indicator can be used in silos up to 75 m tall.
Background
Based on microwave impulses emitted from a combined transmit/receive antenna onto the surface of the product from where it is reflected, the MBA400 radar is particularly suitable for the measurement of filling levels whereby contact with the bulk material is to be avoided.
Thanks to the slim radar beam and different shapes and lengths of the antennas that can be used, the MBA400 radar is the ideal choice for measurements in narrow containers or in those with built-in fittings. An optional flushing air unit ensures the perfect measurement performance of the antenna even in dusty environments. Typical areas of application are the food, chemical and construction industries as well as plastic processing and steel production.
